THE County Ground test centre has been closed and dismantled.

The mobile testing centre first opened on May 14 and treated up to 300 people a day - mainly key workers, care staff and elderly Swindonians who were showing symptoms of Covid-19.

The government then expanded testing capability to check everyone of any age who think they may have become infected.

Testing at the County Road site was wound down as a newer and bigger centre opened near Wroughton on May 30.

This facility is expected to be open for at least six months.

People who want to check if they have coronavirus should book a test at the regional testing centre at the Wroughton Park and Ride which can see up to 2,000 people per day.

Motorists can enter the site via Pipers Way.

Visit www.nhs.uk/coronavirus to book an appointment or order a testing kit by post.
