A Liverpool man has appeared before Swindon magistrates charged with a six-count burglary spree – allegedly committed over a single weekend.

Appearing in court via video link from Melksham police station, Patrick Jones, 28, of no fixed address, spoke only to confirm his personal details.

He entered no pleas to allegations he drove an Audi A5 dangerously in Chester on November 8, 2018, and entered six properties in south Wiltshire with intent to steal.

The six businesses named on the charge sheet are Hermitage Automotive, Salisbury, Hertz in the same city, South Newton Industrial Estate, Salisbury, Wessex Water, Wilton, Quarry Field Industrial Estate, Mere, and Chaldicott Barns, Semley. The burglaries are said to have taken place between Friday, November 6, and Sunday, November 8.

Magistrates remanded Jones in custody to appear before Salisbury Crown Court on July 31 for plea.
