Police have closed the subway beneath Drakes Way after a water main burst.
Wiltshire Police said Thames Water and Swindon Borough Council were dealing with the burst pipe.
Pictures from Adver photographer Dave Cox show Thames Water engineers at the scene.
A spokesman for Thames Water said: "We’re sorry to anyone affected by a burst on six inch and three inch-diameter pipes in Drakes Way. Our engineers were quickly on the scene to stop the water flowing on to the road and are working hard to fix the pipes.
“We’re also pumping away excess water that flowed into a nearby underpass.
“We don’t expect any customer water supplies to be affected but there could be disruption to motorists and pedestrians while the repair is completed and the road surface is reinstated."
