A BOOKSHOP that has been a high street stalwart for 20 years has revealed it is closing for good.
Bassett Books in Royal Wootton Bassett said it stopped trading on Thursday, 20 years after it was opened by Alan Mole.
A spokesperson for the shop said: “It is with great sadness that we have to announce that Bassett Books has ceased trading as of today.
“The past five months have been incredibly challenging for everyone in retail, and unfortunately for us it has proved a challenge too much for us to overcome.
“Thank you to everyone who has support the bookshop throughout our time in Royal Wootton Bassett. We are so sorry we’ve not been able to maintain the High Street’s independent bookshop, and wish all the indie businesses in RWB the very best moving forwards.”
