A LARGE diamond solitaire ring will be one of the star lots to feature in Charterhouse’s two day auction in August.

The ring comes to the Charterhouse two-day auction of jewellery, watches, silver and antiques from a gentleman who passed away at the beginning of this year.

The diamond measures approximately 4ct and is of good clarity with no visible inclusions.

Set in unmarked white metal, which is probably platinum, this ring is dateless in style and estimated to sell for £15,000-20,000 at the Charterhouse auction.

“It certainly is quite a whopper of a ring, being about the size of a fingernail,” said director Richard Bromell.

He added: “Whilst you will not be able to see this diamond from the moon, it is certainly large enough to see from across a room and will put a smile on the face of whoever is lucky enough to be wearing it.”

Charterhouse are now accepting entries for their auction of silver, jewellery and watches with a selection of wine, port and whisky to be held on Thursday August 6 and Friday August 7.

The auction house will also be hosting auctions of classic and vintage cars on the Wednesday July 29, followed by classic and vintage motorcycles on Thursday August 27.
