PEOPLE across Wiltshire are being asked to share how nature has helped them through lockdown.

The Royal Society for the Protection of Birds is celebrating nature and wildlife by asking people in the county what new things they've noticed outdoors.

It could be a bird song, animals in the park or something they hadn't noticed before in nature.

The natural world is important for people's mental health and wellbeing particularly during lockdown.

Adam Murray is the head of community empowerment at the RSPB.

He said: “Connecting with the natural world is more important than ever. Over the last few months, as we juggled work, family life and wellbeing, all from the confines of home, the natural world became a playground, a gym, a tonic, and much more besides. But while our lives have changed, the threats to nature have not gone away.

"We want to know what you’ve started to value during these strange times.”
