Did you spot the rainbow cloud over Corsham today??

The rare meterological phenomenon was captured on film by Helen Brian, who sent in this picture after she rushed out into her garden with a camera.

Rainbow clouds are caused by cloud iridescence, when the sun's rays reflect off droplets of water, often frozen, within the could, and colour its inner surface with light.

They are also known as irisisations, after the Greek god Iris, goddess of rainbows
