A TRIAL date has been set for a teenager accused of murdering a Bournemouth man in Boscombe Chine Gardens.

The 16-year-old from London, who cannot be named for legal reasons, is accused of killing James Cutting.

Mr Cutting, aged 31, was found with stab wounds on the evening of Tuesday, June 30.

The defendant also faces a charge of attempted murder in the same location on the same day in relation to another man who was reportedly found with injuries to his neck and face.

A short hearing was held at Winchester Crown Court yesterday, in which the defendant was not arraigned.

A plea and trial preparation hearing was set for August 20, with a trial to start on January 4, 2021.

The teenager was remanded into secure accommodation.

The latest details on arrests in police’s investigation, which is being led by detectives from the the Major Crime Investigation Team, are as follows:

A 31-year-old Bournemouth woman has been arrested on suspicion of assisting an offender. A 49-year-old man from Bournemouth previously arrested on suspicion of assisting an offender and being concerned in the supply of controlled drugs has also been re-arrested and further questioned by detectives. Both have now been released under investigation.

A 20-year-old man from London arrested on suspicion of murder and being concerned in the supply of controlled drugs was released under investigation for the drugs offence, but faces no further police action in relation to the alleged murder.

A 19-year-old man from London arrested on suspicion of being concerned in the supply of controlled drugs and assisting an offender was released on police bail.

A 43-year-old man from Oxford arrested on suspicion of assisting an offender and being concerned in the supply of controlled drugs was released under investigation.

A 42-year-old Christchurch man arrested on suspicion of assisting an offender was released under investigation.
