A traffic warden was left covered in plaster in a dispute over a ticket – with the council reporting that three wardens have been assaulted in the past week.

Swindon Borough Council is yet to say when or where the assault took place, only saying the attack was carried out by someone unhappy at having been given a ticket.

A picture of the warden targeted shows her head and jacket covered in light brown plaster.

The council said: “We’re sad to report that, this week, our parking wardens have been assaulted three times, one was even covered in plaster.”

A spokesman added: “We understand that you are using your cars more and need to find parking, but that's no excuse for dangerous parking or this kind of behaviour.”
