A COMPANY that specialises in providing props and figures for events around the country has set up a new base near Cricklade.

Odin Events confirmed the opening of its Marston Meysey depot which is the firm’s first site in Wiltshire and the first to be set up outside of the north west of England.

The 8,500 square foot storage unit is filled to the brim with colourful characters, enormous props and detailed figurines which can be used to entertain at events.

It is hoped that the new location will significantly cut down the company’s carbon footprint as it will shorten journeys to and from clients in the south west and further afield.

Founder and chief executive Shane Reed said: ’We’re delighted to have expanded our operation outside of the north west.

“Wiltshire seemed like the perfect place for us to anchor our southern base.

He said: “We anticipate that the new depot will help us to cut our annual mileage by 60,000 miles and help us to reduce our carbon footprint by approximately 30 metric tonnes.’

"As for many businesses, the past few months have been challenging for us, but we are finding new ways to adapt what we do and continue to deliver high quality events and entertainment for our clients.’’

"By opening a second depot in the area we will be able to better service our clients in the south west and surrounding areas.
