Cineworld has unveiled a new 4DX screen at the Shaw Ridge cinema.
4DX will allow viewers to experience 'extreme sensory cinema' by simulating what is happening on screen - including water effects, smells and moving seats.
A statement from Cineworld on Facebook said: "The time has finally come to reveal Swindon's first 4DX screen exclusive to Cineworld Shaw Ridge. A new innovative cinema experience you will never forget!
"Experience extreme sensory cinema with 4DX, a Cineworld exclusive in the UK and Ireland. With stimulating effects like water, wind, bubbles, fog, scent and strobe lighting, that thrill you in your moving seat.
"It's truly not to be missed!"
The cinema also confirmed it will be reopening on Friday but did not confirm when customers would be able to use the 4DX screen for the first time.
It added: "First 4DX bookings are to be confirmed shortly. Stay tuned via our main website or mobile app for updated film times."
