A man accused of having indecent images of children and using specialist software to delete files from his computer will stand trial in November.
Appearing before Swindon Crown Court this morning, David Potts, 65, Mountain Ash Close, Colchester, pleaded not guilty to making indecent images and perverting the course of justice.
It is said he downloaded a programme - called Cipher.exe - in a bid to wipe indecent images of children from his computer in late May and early June last year. Prosecutors claim he downloaded the programme after police told him they wanted to speak to him in relation to indecent image allegations.
Judge Jason Taylor QC set down the trial for November 9. The trial is expected to last three days.
Colin Meeke appeared for the Crown. Andrew Stone for Potts.
