THE Environment Agency and other staff will test out their flood protection response in Botley Road later this month.

On Thursday, August 20, to ensure flood protection plans are well tested, the Oxford Flood Alleviation Scheme partners and emergency responders will be practising their incident response plan.

Oxford Mail:

This will include temporary flood barriers being set up in South Hinksey and Bullstake Close and pumps being tested for removing flood water.

The £150m Oxford Flood Alleviation Scheme is being planned to prevent major flooding in areas like Botley Road, which has flooded in the past, but the scheme has been hit by numerous delays.

A spokesman for the Oxford Flood Alleviation Scheme said: “Due to the current government guidance on public gatherings, we won’t be able to invite members of the community to attend. We will be sharing updates on Twitter and Facebook as the exercise progresses.
