No tinsel this year

The new law only allowing six people per household has made me so sad this year.

I will not see my family that live up North as they are a family of five and if they come to my house we will have seven people in it.

My family has got together every Christmas for years. Not this year as it would be eleven of us.

I have not seen my grandchildren or my son and daughter-in-law since last Christmas. I will not be putting up the tinsel this year.

Please keep wearing the mask to keep yourself safe and others around you!

Honesty a lost British value

An open letter to Robert Buckland: Now the nation’s children are back at school, I was interested to learn recently that the government issues a document to schools called “Guidance on promoting British values”.

Within that guidance is the following statement. “We want every school to promote the basic British values of democracy, the rule of law, individual liberty, and mutual respect and tolerance for those of different faiths and beliefs.”

On Sunday, you stated in your Marr interview that the “rule of law” can be broken if one finds it personally acceptable.

And today on Sky News you implied it is acceptable to break the law if you can “fudge” it somehow.

With that in mind, I would be grateful if you would consult with your colleague, the Education Secretary, to get the phrase “rule of law” removed from this guidance to schools, to reflect more honestly the values promoted by yourself and your government.

We certainly would not want to be teaching our nation’s children that the “rule of law” is a British value, if evidently the person who swore an oath to uphold this value (in your role as Lord Chancellor) no longer feels able to do so.

To lose the “rule of law” as a British value must be regarded as a misfortune, but to then lose the value of “honesty” as well, would frankly look like carelessness.

Police 'stalk' the streets

While looking like paramilitary groups march around London. Other dissidents stopping the printing presses and pulling down statues all over our island.

Our police force who have allowed this to happen now have their hands full with emergency measures to protect the public. They now stalk our streets, parks and entertainment open venues.

I haven’t seen a policeman patrolling around my area of Covingham for years. Unless they are inside the chip shop in Covingham Square. No disrespect, we all need food to survive.

Their serious task demanded by their Grand Poo Baas against the grain of the rank and file officers who risk their lives on a daily basis with stab proof vests. Is now to arrest Grandmothers and Grandfathers who dare to walk the streets of England with any more than four of their bloodline.

While there are more vessels crossing the channel with illegal immigrants than the Isle of Wight annual Cowes week. Are they allowed any more than six in a boat. Will they be arrested?

I doubt it. I strongly suspect that the silent majority's patience is being tried a bit too far at the present moment.

Off to bed with my little springer spaniel. It is called the real world that we all reside in, as we pass briefly through this dimension.

God Bless you all.
