A DRUG gang leader who made more than £100,000 from his trade must pay back £2,095.

Dwaight Lobban was jailed for 14 years in 2018. The Birmingham drug dealer was head of a County Lines-style gang called Pappy that sold class A drugs in Swindon.

Between 2015 and 2016 he made more than 200 trips to Wiltshire, sometimes spending just minutes in the town in order to meet addicts. His associates hired 14 vehicles over the year at the cost of £6,700 while he spent an estimated £8,000 on fuel.

Although he has been behind bars for more than two years, it was only this week at Swindon Crown Court that proceedings brought against Lobban under the Proceeds of Crime Act came to an end.

Judge Jason Taylor QC rubber stamped documents setting out that Lobban had made £111,717.56 from his crimes. He had just £2,095 – cash and goods seized by the police – with which to reimburse the state.

The judge gave the dealer 30 days to pay the money or face one month in prison in default. That direction was largely academic, however, as the £2,095 is already in police hands.
