FAMILIES living in military rented property in Lyneham have been given an extra six months notice, after being given their marching orders to quit their homes in March.
Around 60 households received an email telling them they must vacate their homes as part of an MoD efficiency drive as the homes were no longer needed.
Now the civilian renting families have got until September next year if they apply for an extension on the grounds of hardship. Applications will be decided on a case by case basis.
"We are getting somewhere," said Yvette Lewis of Eider Avenue. "But we can't sit on our laurels."
