A MAN was arrested after entering a Bournemouth casino and throwing around a "flammable liquid".

Police and the fire service were called to Genting Casino in Yelverton Road and evacuated members of the public.

A spokesperson for Dorset Police said: "Dorset Police received a report at 3.05pm on Monday September 28 that a man had entered the Genting Casino in Yelverton Road, Bournemouth, and was throwing around a flammable liquid.

"Officers attended, along with the fire service. Members of the public were evacuated for their safety and a cordon was put in place.

"The man was detained at the scene and was arrested on suspicion of criminal damage.

"He is being checked over by the ambulance service as a precaution."

A Dorset & Wiltshire Fire and Rescue Service spokeswoman said crews from Westbourne and Poole were called to Yelverton Road at 3.07pm.

It is a police incident, with firefighters called to support officers at the scene, she said.
