HIGHWORTH: Stephen Benson, 63, of Eastrop, Highworth, admitted drink driving. He was behind the wheel of a Land Rover Discovery on Cricklade Road on December 20, 2019, when tests later showed he had 42 microgrammes of alcohol in 100ml of breath. The legal limit is 35.

He was fined 466, banned from driving for a year and ordered to pay £391 in costs and surcharge.

PINEHURST: Dean Stratford, 28, of Limes Avenue, pleaded guilty to assaulting a woman and criminal damage. He was fined £366 and ordered to pay £85 costs.

PEATMOOR: Scott Elmore, 30, of Stockwell Court, pleaded guilty to assaulting a woman in Royal Wootton Bassett on December 27, damaging a glass door panel and assaulting a woman on July 11.

He was given a 10-week jail sentence suspended for two years. He must complete the building better relationships programme with the probation service, pay £300 compensation, £250 costs and a £122 victim surcharge.

A restraining order prevents him from contacting his victim or going to Draymans Court, Royal Wootton Bassett, until September 23, 2022.

SWINDON: Arney Stead, 18, currently at HMP Parc, admitted a charge of affray dated August 6, 2019. He was sentenced to four months detention in a young offender institution. He must pay £50 compensation.

MOREDON: Jake Morrish, 25, of Elborough Road, was jailed for 14 days after he admitted stealing £28.10 worth of groceries from Kingshill service station on August 15 and £340-worth of clothing from JD Sports on the same date. He must pay £88.10 in compensation.

TOWN CENTRE: Nayane Dacosta, 28, of York Road, was found guilty of drink driving. She had been stopped driving a Mini in Eastbury Way on December 30, 2019, when tests later found she had 50 microgrammes of alcohol in 100ml of breath. She was fined £690, banned from driving for a year and ordered to pay £775 costs and a £69 victim surcharge.

WALCOT: Henry Jackson, 52, of Lennox Drive, was found not guilty of assaulting a male on January 27.

SWINDON: Liam Simms, 18, of Skylark Grove, Yatton, admitted taking a Yamaha motorbike without consent on September 13, 2019, and driving it without a licence or insurance.

He was fined £349, must pay £85 costs and a £32 victim surcharge. His licence was endorsed with six penalty points.

TOWN CENTRE: Shohidur Rahman, 42, of Sheppard Street, admitted assault and breaching a restraining order. He was jailed for 26 weeks and ordered he pay a £128 victim surcharge.

WILTSHIRE: Magistrates made a seven-year sexual risk order preventing Gage Heathcote, 18, of Buckley Barracks, Hullavington, from having any contact with a child under 16 unless it is inadvertent and unavoidable in everyday life, with the express permission of the child’s parent and with the consent of a police officer.

He is also banned from living with the parent of a child under 16 who lives with that child or has contact with them, unless he first notifies his police supervising officer.

Heathcote cannot possess a mobile phone or internet-enabled device unless he notifies his police officer. He must allow the police to examine the device. He is also required to allow police entry to his home.

PARK NORTH: A 16-year-old who admitted driving a motorcycle dangerously on a path in Buckhurst Crescent on August 7 has been given a six-month conditional discharge. He also pleaded guilty to driving without insurance or a licence. Magistrates ordered the boy, who cannot be named as he is under 18, pay £85 costs and a £17 victim surcharge.

SWINDON: Aaron Penfold, 21, of Syke Lane, Dewsbury, admitted damaging a Mini Cooper and Peugeot 206 at Swindon railway station on November 29. He must pay £486 in compensation and £85 costs.

TOWN CENTRE: Gary Metcalfe, 34, of Spring Close, pleaded guilty to assaulting a woman on September 28, 2020. He was jailed for 12 weeks and ordered to pay a £156 victim surcharge.

WILTSHIRE: Police were granted permission to retain £14,050.20 cash seized from Adam Hale at Jacklins Close, Hilperton Marsh, on September 27, for six months. The application was made under the Proceeds of Crime Act.

LIDEN: Jake Lewis, 24, of Barrington Close, admitted driving on Welcombe Avenue on March 3, 2020, without a licence, insurance and carelessly. He was given an 18-month community order with a requirement to complete 270 hours of unpaid work and up to 23 rehabilitation activity days. He must pay a £90 victim surcharge and banned from driving for a year.

SWINDON: Robbie Holmes, 19, of Sanstone Road, Swindon, Ryan O’Neill, 18, of Wheatcroft Way, Swindon, Ryan Pearce, 19, of Swansea Road, Merthyr Tydfill, William Richell, 18, of Bryanston Way, Swindon, Chloe Taylor, 19, of Polesdon Avenue, Swindon, each pleaded guilty to using threatening behaviour on October 26 intending to cause others to fear violence would be used against them.

Each were given a 12-month community order with a requirement to complete 120 hours of unpaid work, with the exception of Holmes and Taylor who must do 100 hours of unpaid work. They must pay £180 in costs and surcharge.
