Two families from Old Town and North Swindon have teamed up to give children meals during half term.

Kurt Giddings and his girlfriend Josie Reeve joined best friends, and owners of bakery Sugar Shack, Dean and Elly Ireland to produce more than 700 meals for children on the free school meals scheme during half term.

The group set up their Mylo's Lunches scheme - named after Kurt's five-year-old son, in the Town Gardens in Old Town between 12 and 2pm and have since given some of their packages to the Penhill Street Team.

Kurt, 26, said: "We have kids ourselves, so naturally we wouldn't want to hear of any children going hungry.

"We want to say it's okay to be in that situation and no one's judging you for that.

"I can't understand anyone who wouldn't be willing to help with this."

The group will be distributing meals until the end of half term and will be ready to do it again over Christmas if necessary.
