A partial closure order has been approved for an address in Park South to crack down on criminal activity and antisocial behaviour.

The order for a property in Studland Close will last three months.

If anyone other than the occupant and three named associates enters the building, they will be committing an offence and may be arrested.

Officers submitted an application for the address following ongoing issues with violence and other illegal acts over a long period of time by men and women at all hours of the day and night.

PC Mike Diffin said: “A closure order of this kind is an effective tool available to the police to help us protect vulnerable individuals from being exploited by criminals in their own home.

“Officers have been called to the address following various reports from people in relation to anti-social behaviour from known and unknown persons acting in a manner that has, on occasions, resulted in an escalation of violence and criminality.

“We believe this closure order will have a significant positive impact on the quality of life for the occupant as well as residents in the immediate area.

“We will continue to conduct regular welfare checks at the address to ensure the order is being adhered to and the welfare of the occupant is not being put at risk.”
