POLICE detained a teenage boy after being called about fireworks being launched at houses and vehicles in Broadgreen.
Officers from the Central South Neighbourhood Team patrolled the area on bikes supplied by South Swindon Parish Council after reports of the antisocial behaviour came in earlier this evening.
Within minutes of arriving, a group of young people attempted to flee the scene.
Police quickly detained one member of the group who was carrying a rocket.
Officers have also seized from him what they believe to be the group's stash of fireworks and the 14-year-old boy is being dealt with for various offences.
Others in the group have been dispersed and police remain in the area to enforce current government restrictions. Officers are asking parents to check on their children and ensure they are abiding by the current regulations in place.
