A North Swindon mum is organising a Christmas lights switch-on for her community.
Anna Blake has created the North Swindon Community Christmas Lights Switch-On Facebook group, where she is organising the event.
She said: “Hopefully this will mark the end of lockdown and will just be a nice way to celebrate it and Christmas, and have a bit of fun.
“Covid has put a stop to many events, including the main Christmas lights switch-on, so this is a chance for communities to have their own.”
On December 5 at a pre-agreed time there will be a co-ordinated switch on of everyone’s Christmas decorations on their houses.
“I expect I will do a Facebook live countdown and then we can all do it together,” added Anna, from Haydon End.
“There’s nothing to stop people elsewhere joining in.
“But let’s bring together the North Swindon communities at Christmas by coordinating the switch on of our Christmas decorations,” she said.
