THESE Swindon siblings may be a little familiar to any regular TV watchers.

Because Malakhai, 11, Shannel, eight, Eljay, five, and one-year-old Lowi have all starred in adverts, TV shows or photography shoots.

Between them the Mushonga children, from Freshbrook, have been in adverts such as the the Co-Op Christmas advert in 2019, a BT advert, a Simply Health commercial and modelled for Disney.

And now two of them – Malakhai and Shannel – feature in the new Sainsbury's Christmas commercial.

Shannel said: “The auditioning is very hard but I just get it, it’s my dream that I can go on TV and everyone can see me.

“If I’m on stage I’m not very scared because I’m used to it and on camera it feels like family.”

Malakhai shared some behind the scenes secrets of filming.

He said: “The food that they use and you see on screen doesn’t get eaten. There is an assumption it will but it doesn’t because they often put baby oil on it to make it look better.

“With the rejection side of it, I take it and I learn from my mistakes. I do my best so I practice my expressions and my tone of voice so I adapt to different environments. I would like to do it as a career in the future.”

Mum Natasha, 34, said: “I feel you make your own goals and I don’t think it can just happen. I researched opportunities for them with my cousin. With Malakhai he had confidence issues but through doing this he became more proud and it boosted his confidence.

“They do get a lot of rejection and no's but they’re very used to it and it actually helps them at school, they’re very accepting."

Lowi has followed the family tradition and has recently been in Amazon Prime historical drama The Spanish Princess.

“Everything happens in London so I’m constantly driving up and down the motorway.

“I feel they have it in their genes but if they did not love it, I would give it up. They’re very resilient children and pushing me to help them do it.

“They’re very fortunate to have been chosen from Swindon as it’s usually people from London – it’s a blessing really. They just have to find a way to be strong and continue. I’ve taught them that not everyone in life is going to like you or appreciate you but you have to carry on.”
