A “predatory” paedophile who exchanged vile video calls with a 14-year-old girl he met online was jailed for almost four-and-a-half years.
Darren Brazier, 37, was subject to a suspended prison sentence and a court order designed to limit his access to children and the internet when he struck up a friendship with the teen last December on a sex fetish website.

Jilted chef blinded ‘love rival’

A jilted chef who battered his perceived love rival in the face with a hockey stick was jailed for 11-and-a-half years.
William Jeffcoat appeared not to react as Judge Peter Crabtree sent him down for partially blinding one victim and leaving another with a scarred face as a permanent reminder of the brutal assault.

Dealer turned back to drugs after trouble with loan sharks

An experienced drug dealer fell back into the illegal trade after getting in trouble with Albanian loan sharks, a Swindon court heard.
Darren Walcott, 40, was given six years and seven months for pulling the strings in the “Diego” drugs line.

Three drug dealers from London were sentenced for their part in an operation that peddled class A and B drugs in Swindon
Shaun Brown, 23, and Anthony Brown, 29, were jailed for five years and two years and 10 months respectively for their role in the “Breaker” drugs line.
Runner Alexter Tonto, just 18-years-old when he was driven from the capital to Swindon at the height of the first coronavirus lockdown, was sentenced to two years and three months’ detention in a young offenders' institution.

Drugs runner who threatened sex assault victim

Grant Townsend, 23, was sentenced to four years and two months’ imprisonment after he admitted supplying class A drugs to an undercover officer – half a year after he was caught with crack and heroin in east Swindon.
The Liden man also threatened the victim of a – then alleged – sexual assault carried out by his cousin, Edward Booth. Townsend ordered her to drop the charges.

Highworth child rapist caged

A child rapist from Highowrth was jailed for 14 years.
Phillip Lewis, 41, of The Cullerns, Highworth, groomed his female victim almost two decades ago in west Oxfordshire.
He was found guilty by a jury at Oxford Crown Court in October of rape of a child, three counts of sexual assault of a child, assaulting a child by penetration and engaging in a sexual activity in the presence of a child in a trial

Drug dealer jailed after selling to undercover cop

Kenneth Cox, 45, was given six years and five months after a Swindon jury found him guilty of supplying crack cocaine to an undercover cop in Broadgreen last winter.
The Penhill man claimed it was a case of mistaken identity and the real drug dealer was an acquaintance to whom he had lent his car in exchange for drugs.
