Shoppers will be able to enjoy free parking in Malmesbury to help boost support for local businesses in the run up to Christmas.

Visitors using the Cross Hayes car park in the town centre will be able to enjoy two hours free parking this Saturday, December 5.

Free parking will also be available on Saturday 12, Saturday 19, Tuesday 22 and Wednesday 23.

To park for free, simply collect your free ticket from the Tourist Information Centre when you park.

Following the easing of national Covid-19 restrictions, non-essential retail, hairdressers and hospitality premises reopened on Wednesday.

The offer is part of a special campaign run by Malmesbury Town Council and Malmesbury Town Team's to support local retailers in the run up to Christmas.

There is also two hours of free parking at the Station Yard Car Park and allocated spaces to park on Malmesbury High Street.

Mayor of Malmesbury, Campbell Ritchie, said: “Malmesbury is looking forward to welcoming Christmas shoppers.

"Enjoy the beautifully decorated shops and have a coffee or other refreshments, knowing that you are supporting local retailers.

"If you are not sure what gift to buy, then there is always the Malmesbury Gift Card, which can be spent in most of the shops.”
