THE VICTIM of a brutal Boxing Day stabbing is now in a stable condition, police said.
Police were called to reports of a disorder in Faringdon Road at around 6am on Boxing Day.
A 34-year-old man suffered stab wounds to his back and wrist. He was taken to John Radcliffe Hospital, Oxford.
His injuries were initially described as life-threatening.
However, a spokesman for Wiltshire Police has this afternoon confirmed the man is now in a stable condition. His injuries are no longer thought to be life-threatening or life-changing.
Four men have been arrested on suspicion of causing grievous bodily harm. They remain at Gablecross police station.
