People with no home of their own were given a meal on Christmas Day thanks to the generosity of a community group in our town.
The Nepalese Association of Wiltshire distributed free hot food and Christmas presents to 50 homeless people last Friday.
Members of the association handed out takeaway meals near the housing support shelter Culvery Court, with the help of Yak the Himalayan Kitchen which specializes in authentic Nepalese food.
The association has previously supported the Great Western Foundation NHS Trust, raising £10,000 for Brighter Futures following the initial outbreak of the Covid-19 pandemic in May.
Established in 2006 when many former Gurkha soldiers and their families were settling in the UK, the Nepalese Association of Wiltshire used to meet at Buckhurst Community Centre in park north before the lockdown restrictions came into force.
It aims to help people settle into UK life and understand local customs and culture.
