Gertie Tippetts is 105 this week.

The sprightly great, great grandma who was born in Avebury, but now lives in Royal Wotton Bassett is celebrating on Zoom with her family.

And what a family! She has five children, 14 grand children, 24 great grand children and three great, great grand children.

Born at home in Avebury, she has lived in Winterbourne Monkton, Clench Common, Yatesbury, Marlborough, and now in Royal Wootton Bassett.

She went to Cadley school and worked in service before she started her family. After her family had grown up she then worked at Marlborough College until 1986 when she retired aged 70.

She likes to knit and is currently busy knitting a cardigan.

Also, she loves to read the newspapers and keep up with current affairs. She is very interested in anything about the Royal family. She loves sport of any kind and enjoys watching the football.

"She is a very kind lady who is loved by all," said grand daughter Victoria.
