AN excitable dog forced a helicopter to abort its emergency landing.

Wiltshire Air Ambulance was called to an incident in Shrivenham at 12.48pm but was forced to find somewhere else to land after the lively pooch got in the way.

The crew found somewhere nearby and were eventually able to land and respond to the emergency.

A spokesman for WAA said: “Top tip from the operational crew: If you see us approaching to land, please gain control of your dog, ideally put them on a lead and stay back.

“The crew today were forced to abort a landing and choose an alternative landing site due to a very excitable dog trying to catch us.”
