A NEW headteacher will be taking the reins at Gorse Hill Primary School in the spring

Luke Graham, formerly head of school at Claycots School Partnership in Slough and will replace Joanne Lewis as principal in April. 

Luke said: “I am delighted to have been appointed principal of Gorse Hill School. Having grown up in Swindon, I am  excited to embrace this opportunity to lead the school and serve the community that I have a strong  personal attachment to.

“I am grateful to The White Horse Federation for this opportunity, and am very much looking forward to  working with colleagues within the federation and Gorse Hill School, as well as families and the wider community to ensure that our pupils receive the very best educational deal built on high standards and  expectations, so that they fulfil their potential.” 

Gorse Hill joined The White Horse Federation multi-academy trust in 2016. 

The trust is responsible for 32 schools across Swindon, Wiltshire, Gloucester, Oxfordshire, and Berkshire.

Its director Simon Cowley said: “I am delighted to introduce Luke as the  new principal of Gorse Hill School. During his time as head of school with the Claycots School Partnership, Luke demonstrated excellent leadership skills and he has impressed us with his ambitious vision for the  school going forward.

"We are very excited that he will be joining our school community in April.”
