People in Swindon have been warned of a Covid vaccine scam.
Swindon Borough Council posted an image of a text that suggests people follow a link to find out when they can get their vaccine.
The text said: "NHS: We have identified that your are eligible to apply for your vaccine.
"For more information and to apply, follow here:"
The council added the link takes you to a website that looks similar to the usual NHS page but it asks for personal details that the healthcare service would already have as well as details on a payment card.
The council added: "Scammers are using the vaccine rollout as a way of targeting and defrauding residents.
"The NHS will never: request that you pay for the vaccine ask for your bank details, pin or credit card details turn up to your house unannounced to administer your vaccine ask you to send copies of personal documents like your passport or driving licence."
