Firefighters from two Swindon fire stations were at the scene of a Park South house fire within five minutes of the 999 call this morning.
Dorset and Wiltshire Fire and Rescue Service said the occupant of a house in Leighton Road called 999 at around 3.30am saying clothes were on fire.
A spokesman said: “During the call, control were able to hear an alarm sounding indicating that there was smoke within the property. One fire engine from Swindon and one from Stratton fire stations were mobilised and were in attendance within five minutes of the call.”
Firefighters put out the flames and ventilated the property.
