Covid conspiracy theories have been graffitied on posters for an Old Town restaurant.

The posters outside Los Gatos on Devizes Road were advertising the delivery service for the restaurant but were vandalised by the damaging theories on Monday.

Three posters were graffitied with two claiming 5G caused coronavirus

It said: “5G radiation. New “covid” strain. Buy an EMF Meter.”

The third poster targeted South Swindon MP Robert Buckland adding: “Russian traitor Buckland out.”

The graffiti comes just days after Great Western Hospital chief executive Kevin McNamara slammed Covid deniers saying they were “divorced from reality”.

He said: “It’s important to confront the deniers and people that are putting out these myths because these myths cost lives, these myths sometimes encourage people to think they can go out and socialise and not be at risk of a deadly virus.

“I went into intensive care and spoke to staff. To see the pressure and the human toll staff and patients are under from this deadly virus… I think anybody that sees this as not being real, or something that’s just a typical thing that we face, is really divorced from reality.”

The Swindon Advertiser tried to contact Los Gatos for comment but did not get a response.
