THE BEST and worst places to live in Swindon according to our readers can now be revealed. 

In a poll last week more than 2,900 of you had your say. 

The clear winner of the poll was South Swindon with 30 per cent of the vote.

The area includes the town centre and Old Town (popular for its nightlife pre-Covid), as well as places such as the newly built Wichelstowe area and Coate Water.

In second place was 'Other' which included Royal Wootton Bassett, Highworth and Blunsdon.

These areas successfully managed to bag 28 per cent of the vote, only narrowly being beaten by South Swindon.

These towns and villages on the outskirts of Swindon are the most rural around the town and feature plenty of picturesque views with Highworth often being named as the 'gateway to the Cotswolds'.

In third place was North Swindon with 24 per cent, not too far off the top two.

The area features a number of Swindon's shopping centres including the Designer Outlet Village and the Orbital Shopping Centre. 

Much like South Swindon it also features some newly built areas including Tadpole Garden Village.

Coming in last place, with just 18 per cent of the vote was West Swindon.

This are of the town features the popular Lydiard Park as well as the GLL-operated Link centre. 

It's also home to the Shaw Ridge leisure park which features the town's only bowling site and a 4DX cinema.
