Elections are due to be held in Swindon on May 6 for 19 Swindon Borough Council seats, the Wiltshire Police and Crime Commissioner and in nine of the borough’s parish councils.

The borough council and PCC elections have been delayed by a year by the coronavirus pandemic and lockdown.

The deadline to register to vote is April 19. To get a new or changed postal vote, an application needs to be made by April 20. And for those who want a proxy vote an application needs to be made by April 27.

The Government is asking that as many people as possible register for a postal vote to help with safety at polling stations on the day.

Those voters who want to go to the polling station will be asked to take along their own pen or pencil.
