A concert at the Oasis has been cancelled after the closure of the leisure centre.

The Specials were due to perform at the venue on August 31 this year, but ticket company AXS has now announced the show has been cancelled.

When customers go to buy tickets for the event they are greeted with a 'CANCELLED' label on the website.

In an email, seen by the Adver, AXS says: "Due to the unfortunate closure of Swindon Oasis, The Specials show scheduled to take place on August 31, 2021 is now cancelled. Ticket holders have automatically been refunded."

New tour dates have been announced following the closure at the Bristol O2 Academy and Reading Rivermead in August and October.

Ticketholders for the Oasis concert will have an opportunity to buy these tickets, but only until Friday morning.

AXS added: "If you have a ticket for the cancelled Swindon Oasis show, you will have the opportunity to purchase priority tickets for Bristol and Reading shows from your original point of purchase until 10am Friday, March 5 2021."

The Adver has approached AXS for comment.
