LANES two and three of the M4 eastbound were closed at lunchtime between Junctions 16 and 15 following an accident involving one vehicle.

Police were at the scene and Highways England officers assisted with the road closure at midday.

A Wiltshire Police spokesman said: "We received reports of a vehicle breakdown at 12noon on the roundabout of the M4 at J15.

"A red Renault Clio broke down in the live lane closest to the centre of the roundabout.

"Our officers quickly attended and helped remove the vehicle."

The lanes reopened and traffic flow returned to normal at around 1.15pm.

Further along the motorway, a car fire near Junction 18 is holding up traffic.
