BUSES will pull over on Saturday so drivers and passengers can observe minute’s silence to mark the death of the Duke of Edinburgh.
Swindon’s Bus Company announced it will be remembering Prince Philip at 3pm, when his funeral takes place.
“This is our opportunity to pay our respects, along with the rest of the nation, to His Royal Highness,” said the Swindon’s Bus Company managing director Andrew Wickham.
“Our drivers will pull over, if it is safe to do so, at 3pm to coincide with the ceremonial funeral, which will take place at St George’s Chapel, Windsor. This will also give those on board a chance to mark the occasion if they wish to do so.”
It was announced on Friday Prince Philip had died at the age of 99.
Swindon Borough Council has set up a book of condolence for the royal family for those who wish to express their sympathy – but Covid-19 restrictions mean it will remain in virtual form only. To leave a message, visit swindon.gov.uk
