AN URGENT road closure is being put in place for patching and maintenance works next week.
Wiltshire Council announced that part of the A3102, Lydiard Tregoze to Coped Hall in Royal Wootton Bassett will be closed on April 29.
Drivers will have to find alternative routes through New Road, Station Road, Nore Marsh Road, and C374.
This will be from 7pm until 23.59pm on Thursday, the notice will have a maximum duration of five days.
Councillor Steve Bucknell for Royal Wootton Bassett east said: "It has just been confirmed to me that the A3102 between Coped Hall and The Churchill will be closed on the evening of Thursday, April 29 from 7.00pm for urgent reactive patching and maintenance works."
Residents had flagged the problem and said resurfacing works were needed through the My Wilts App.
A spokesperson for Wiltshire Council said: "The closure and diversion route will be clearly indicated by traffic signs.
"Access will be maintained for residents and businesses where possible, although delays are likely due to the nature of the works."
