HEAVY rain and strong winds are forecast to hit Swindon for several hours this bank holiday Monday.

A 70 per cent chance of heavy rain from 9pm could see the showers continue late into the night.
While the town is being drenched, strong gusts of wind will blow through the borough at speeds of up to 51mph, with the greatest gales forecast from 5pm to 8pm.
A yellow weather warning for wind is in place from 12pm today to 9am tomorrow.
Temperatures will range from six degrees Celsius to 10C. Medium-strength pollen and UV levels are expected.
Tuesday should be calmer with drier conditions, cloudy skies and gusts of up to 38mph.
