South Swindon MP Robert Buckland extended his Laptops For Local Schools campaign so that charities can receive refurbished devices.

Mr Buckland began the campaign in January. Over the past three months, Swindon people and companies have donated unused or unwanted devices to SP Computers and Excalibur Communications.

Both firms refurbished these devices and got them ready for pupils to use. The green scheme has seen pupils from schools across the town benefit from donated devices and helped to reduce landfill.

Mr Buckland said: "I am extremely grateful to all of those residents and businesses who have donated devices, not to mention the brilliant teams at SP Computers and Excalibur, who have stepped up at such a difficult time, and repaired hundreds of devices for pupils at schools right the way across the town.

“I have been contacted by several charities who are also in need of laptops and devices, so we have decided to extend the scheme.

“I am calling for residents and businesses here in Swindon who have unwanted or unused devices to get in touch so that these can be put to good use.

“I am also calling for local charities to get in touch if they could benefit from a refurbished device.”
