A BUSY Stratton road was closed off while emergency services help a teenager who was hit by a car.
Police cars and ambulances blocked Ermin Street this afternoon while a teenage girl was treated and taken to hospital.
A South West Ambulance Service Trust spokesman said: "We were called at 3.06pm, and have treated a female teenager and transported her to hospital by land ambulance with a serious leg injury."
A Wiltshire Police spokesman said: "At 3.15pm today, we responded to reports that a teenage girl had been hit by a car in Ermin Street, Stratton St Margaret in Swindon.
"Her injuries are not thought to be life changing or life threatening.
"The road was currently closed in both directions and drivers were advised to avoid the area or take alternative routes."
The road reopened at 5.30pm.
