TRAFFIC is queuing for four miles after an accident caused a lane closure near Cricklade.
Police and an ambulance were called to the two-vehicle collision involving a HGV and a Toyota Yaris. One of the drivers was taken to Great Western Hospital for their injuries, which are believed not to be serious.
Congestion at the B4040 turn-off is causing delays of up to 30 minutes due to the accident at A419 northbound.
Drivers heading from Swindon to Cirencester will experience delays until the road is cleared and the lane is reopened.
A Wiltshire Police spokesman said: “At around 7.15am today we were alerted to a two-vehicle collision on the northbound carriageway of the A419 at Cricklade, close to the Calcutt service station.
“It involved a Toyota Yaris and a HGV.
“Emergency services attended and the northbound carriageway was shut for a short time.
“The driver of the car has been taken to Great Western Hospital and the vehicle is now being recovered, with the scene expected to be clear soon.”
