PLANS to build 50 new homes in Alderbury have been criticised as "bland, urban and somewhat monotonous".
Submitted by Vistry Homes, the plans are for "the erection of 50 residential dwellings, pumping station and replacement guide hut with associated infrastructure, parking, landscaping, open space and works", on land off Firs Road.
The proposals are for five two-bedroom houses, 22 three-bed and 12 four-bed (open market), and five two-bed, five three-bed, and one four-bed (affordable).

The land was previously occupied by Alderbury Football Club.
New football changing rooms and facilities have been approved for Alderbury FC to the north east of the site with a new access route from Firs Road.
To the east, an open field borders the site which is subject to a lease to AFC to facilitate their relocation from the application site.
To the southeast, the site is bordered by Alderbury & West Grimstead CE VA Primary School defined by a tree-lined hedge.
Access for cars is to be provided via the new sports club access previously approved, which forms an extension of Firs Road.

The outline for the plans was originally submitted back in 2017, and was opposed by the Southern Wiltshire Planning Committee, and received widespread opposition from the local community, but was granted on appeal in December 2018.
Richard Britton, Wiltshire councillor for Alderbury and Whiteparish, opposed the original application and said it was only won on appeal largely because of the lack of a five-year land supply in Wiltshire.
He added: "I agree with the Parish Council’s comments on this current Reserved Matters application regarding the rather bland, urban and somewhat monotonous design of the houses which is significantly different to the more varied design shown on the original outline application.
"I am also concerned that an additional parking area shown on the Outline application but does not seem to appear on the Reserved Matters application."
Alderbury Parish Council has been contacted for comment.
