FAIRY doors have appeared across Royal Wootton Bassett adding a little magic to the town.

Tiny entrances to a fruit and veg shop, a post office and a school are just some of the creations.

They have appeared on businesses along the High Street, including the Old Bank Antiques, and J Rouse & Son.

The person woman behind it all wants to remain anonymous. She told the Adver: “I just wanted to make people smile. The BBC had reported on someone making fairy houses, I thought it was a great idea, so I decided to make little doors for fairies.

“I asked the businesses in the High Street if they’d be happy for me to put them on their building, and it took off from there.

“I make them from wood, lolly stick, flowers. I try to make them all different styles. I’ve made 24 altogether so far. It’s something for the children to look out for, to make them smile.

"It adds to the magic that most people don’t know it’s me. People love it, I keep seeing lovely reactions.

“It makes me feel really grateful to do something that people enjoy. I’m glad people have warmed to it. It’s nice to do something without expecting anything in return.”

A Facebook page called Fairy Doors of Royal Wootton Bassett was launched allowing the community to share pictures and talk about the appearing doors.
