The new Conservative councillor for Liden, Eldene and Park south said residents want to see CCTV, roads and pavements and tree maintenance improved.

Curtis Flux won the seat last week, defeating long-term Labour councillor Steve Allsopp, fighting the seat for the first time after moving from Walcot and Park North

Coun Flux said: “ I would thank each and every person who came out to vote for me and give me their support.

“I have worked within our community for many years helping to bring much needed community support to the residents of our ward as well as pushing for local improvements. “Speaking with many residents over the past 12 to 24 months we have highlighted several key issues we would like to see improved. These include parking, tree maintenance, road crossings, pathways, CCTV and more.

“Our ward has been dealing with these concerns for many years now. I certainly won’t be able to fix these concerns over night but I think it is important we apply pressure, and start to make steps in the right direction.”

Coun Flux said he will be holding monthly surgeries online and face-to-face from the end of May. He can be contacted at cflux@swindon.gov.uk.
