Top King Sausages is a Swindon business run by two brothers-in-law from Brazil who handmake their own sausages.

Vinny Nunes and Manuel Pereira moved to Swindon in the 2000s, bringing with them an old family recipe from Brazil that makes their seasoning.

Vinny says the idea for Top King started when they decided to make some sausages for themselves: "Manuel is my brother-in-law so we always catch up on weekends.

"We had an idea to do some sausages just for ourselves.

"We're really passionate about sausages. We did a batch of 5 kilos just for us, then friends started asking and it got a bit serious so we decided to open up our own business for it."

Vinny and Manuel create everything they sell themselves: "We create everything from scratch. It's just me and Manuel - we are the directors, the line production and dispatch, everything.

"The recipes we use come from Manuel's mother back in the day, from the 1940s."

Top King only uses loins as their main meat source to make the best quality sausages.

Vinny says: "Our best-seller is the Toscana BBQ sausage. The original recipe is Italian but we developed it back in Brazil so we adapted it to Brazilian taste.

"The second most popular one is the Gourmet Bacon, which has thick bits of bacon inside.

"Our Gourmet Cheese has are six different cheeses in there mixed with pork."

Vinny says that Manuel, who is married to his sister Juliana, is like a brother to him, and it's very much a family business: "Manuel and I are like brothers. He was here when we first came over. He welcomed us and stayed in his house for a little while."

One of their top fans Marcus Hender says: "The products they make are really really good, and the ethos behind is great - it's about good food, love for family and having a good time.

"I could wax lyrical about Top King Sausages, but the proof, they say, is in the eating and I highly recommend that you do just that and try some."
