A WOMAN suffered serious injuries to her head following an assault in the town centre.
The victim, in her 20s, was taken to Great Western Hospital after being attacked at around 4.45pm yesterday at the junction of Regent Street and Canal Walk.
She remains in hospital while being treated for significant injuries to her head.
Another woman in her 40s, was also taken to GWH for injuries to her head and has been arrested on suspicion of GBH with intent. She is currently in hospital.
A Wiltshire Police spokeswoman said: “The incident took place in a busy town centre and we’d like to speak to anyone who witnessed this incident who can help officers with our enquiries.”
