Fans and cast members of Countdown are already missing former host, Swindon’s Nick Hewer.
known to many as Apprentice sidekick to Alan Sugar, he was the man in the chair of the Channel 4 tea-time favourite for nine years until his last episode on Friday.
He was given an emotional send-off he tweeted: “What a surprise to find a big bunch of flowers and a bottle of bubbly at my door today - from the Countdown team - for my last show. Thanks a million to a great team and a big thank you to all those who sent their best wishes to me as I begin my search for a pair of slippers.”
Rachel Riley shared a picture with Susie Dent, Nick and the show’s producer and said: “Congratulations on a wonderful decade End of an era! You will be missed.”
Replacement, Anne Robinson, started on Monday.
