THE Old Bell Hotel Malmesbury is now officially open following a traditional ribbon cutting ceremony on Friday.

Malmesbury Mayor Paul Smith cut a yellow ribbon and launched the new business at an event held on Friday.

New Texan owners - Kim and Whit Hanks - said they were delighted to be open for business and promised that the Old Bell would continue to serve the community as it has for the past 800 years.

“We are so looking forward to being part of this town," said Kim.

As CEO of Whim Hospitality, Kim Hanks was named one of the top women business leaders in Central Texas by the Austin Business Journal, and was honoured with one of their Best CEO Awards in 2017

Whit Hanks founded a successful antiques business, specialising in architectural and international antiques in the mid-1980s, while also working as real estate developer in Central Texas.

Whit’s sharp eye for beautiful heritage pieces has helped create Whim Hospitality’s unique settings.

“All the spaces are decorated with antiques and fun finds from Whit’s 35 plus years as an antiques dealer," said Kim.

“We hope you find something new every time you come to visit."
